Greetings to all our beloved faithful brethren and to all the Saints in Christ our Lord Jesus, grace and peace be unto you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Herewith your daily scriptural devotion for today [Scripture Reading is taken from the King James Version of the Bible]
The Book of 2 Kings chapter 4 verse 8
And it reads as follows:
“Meditation brings about revelation. Find yourself a quiet and solace place surrounded by nature as this helps to enhance your spirituality”
8 ” And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. ”
The Word of God informs us that Elisha passed to Shunem and there in Shunem lived a very notable, wealthy woman.
This was not just an ordinary woman she was a woman well known in her city; in her state. She perceived something about Elisha; that Elisha carried divinity within him and encouraged the man of God to eat food.
She would see the man of God [Elisha], passing by all time whenever he came through to minister to the people in Shunem. This notable woman decided to take action to help the Servant of the Lord with refreshment.
She was a woman full of love and compassion. Every time Elisha came into town, together with his servant Gerhazi, she would alway offer them something to eat. She took care of God’s people. She was driven by love!
May we also be like this Shunemite woman and be driven by love. Give honour where honour is due!
